Welcome to Food FindersFood Finders is a multiregional food bank and food rescue program headquartered in Signal Hill, CA.We pick up donated food from hundreds of local grocery stores, bakeries, restaurants and produce markets and distribute it directly to missions, shelters and social service agencies to feed the needy and impoverished. Our volunteers and staff drivers pick up and deliver on a same-day basis. On average, Food Finders helps provide enough food for 39,000 meals a day, reducing the amount of food insecurity and food waste prevalent throughout Southern California. FOOD RESCUE UPDATE: We did it!! We reached our 100 MILLION POUNDS milestone in April! We are hoping to reach our goal for the year of 7.3 million pounds of food rescued and delivered. For the month of April, we were able to collect just shy of 690,000 pounds of food.
'Summer To End Hunger' Food DriveOur first major food drive of the year will be focused on children, particularly those without a school meal program to rely on during summer. Please help by collecting nonperishables through the month of May. We'll be serving several local agencies and centers that focus on youth, with a distribution in June. You can volunteer or donate! A Properous Postal Food DriveThe annual "Stamp Out Hunger" postal food drive was a great success and we are so grateful to everyone who came out and packed and sorted with us. Special thanks to our volunteer Curtis, and his Masonic Lodge team for your help and amazing BBQ. We were able to fill more than 500 boxes full of canned and nonperishable items to be delivered to those in need. |
